Prepare to be wowed Alaska! The biggest circus ever to come to the state will perform, October 2-21, 2010 and tickets are on sale now.
Special performances include Michael Kiss, with a moving musical tribute to an American legend — Michael Jackson and The Montalvo Troupe, showcasing synchronized acrobatic skill on a 30-foot human-powered “Wheel of Death” and demonstrating their strength, courage and perfect timing on “The Flying Trapeze.” A total of 32 shows are scheduled across nine Alaskan cities in October including Fairbanks, Wasilla, Soldotna, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan, Anchorage, Kodiak and Nome.
Kenai River Sportfishing Association (KRSA) recognized three of its stand-out volunteers this week. Jim Wentworth and Dave and Betty Lowery were named the nonprofit organization’s “Volunteers of the Year” at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic at Soldotna Elks Lodge.
The Foraker Group will bring in leadership experts from around the country to offer Alaska nonprofits strategies for creating healthier staff, organizations and communities. The event will be in the Egan Center in Anchorage on Sept. 20-21, 2010.
